Mother arrested on suspicion of killing 14-month-old son

(ANSA) – Verona, December 4 – Police on Wednesday arrested a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of murdering her 14-month-old son. The infant died earlier Wednesday on his way to the hospital after his mother called emergency services, who alerted police because of bruising on the child’s face.

Police questioned the woman, a Uruguayan national, then placed her under arrest pending an autopsy by the medical examiner.
