Italy won’t exploit shale gas says ministry

(ANSA) – Rome, November 5 – Italy is not planning to exploit any shale-gas deposits, the economy ministry said Tuesday, denying earlier reports.

Industry Minister Flavio Zanonato said the national energy industry would focus on boosting traditional oil and gas activities while the government was “considering” importing shale gas from the UNited States.
