Italy knew nothing of alleged US spying, says undersecretary
(see related stories) (ANSA) – Rome, October 23 – The Italian government on Wednesday denied claims that the country’s secret services were aware of alleged spying on Italian phone calls by US intelligence agency NSA.
“I feel I can exclude the possibility that the (Italian intelligence) services knew,” Marco Minniti, the undersecretary with the intelligence brief, told parliament’s intelligence supervisory committee Copasir.
